Testimonials
“By the way, we were impressed by the installation crew. They worked efficiently and were professional, friendly, and courteous.”
-Paul Woodman
“I wanted to thank you and everyone at Mountain View for the excellent job on my solar installation. I would particularly thank the crew that did the installation of the system. They were very professional and very proficient at their jobs. Even electrical inspector commented on the quality of the work. Again many thanks.”

“In 2008 MTV Solar put this wind generator up for us now they came back and put up eight solar panels for us. We were very happy with the quality of the work that they did, and the knowledge of the employees that did the work. With the wind generator was put up it we reduced our foot print and now we reduced our foot print even more and the power company isn’t getting as much of my money”
-Greg Godman
“A year ago this morning my panels went on. Since then, they have generated 13,298 kilowatt hours. I put 7226 into the grid and drew 19526 from the grid for a net draw of 12,300, total electricity use 25,598 kilowatt hours. I did not burn my wood stove at all, so, that is my heat and electricity. SREC Trade has deposited $1,341.06 into my checking account and at least one more deposit is on the way. I have 36 265 watt panels. I am pleased with their performance both electrically and financially. (Actually, my net meter was installed on April 11, so the in and off the grid numbers are not quite accurate.)”
As of September 2015, Mr Cheney asked mtvSolar to add another 72 285w panels, or 20,520kW! Total system size is now 30.06kW.

“Very proud to have been asked for our observations and experience with MTV Solar. We are mature adults who have understood the viability for renewable energy in our country and in the world for a long time. Not so easy for most of us with middle class resources to be able to execute our reality. MTV Solar helped change that for us to make a purchase possible. Through the combined efforts of Randy and Julie Litwin of MTV Solar we were able to caucus an agreement that financially met our needs. Randy and Julie took all the time we needed to understand their solar products, installation, discounts and government tax credits of 30%. Based on their experience we contracted with them to do a partial phase 1 roof installation in 2014. It was a tremendous success that immediately proved to show us a 33 1/3% savings on our monthly electric bill! In 2015 we built on that progress and installed a phase 2 array that netted us a combined savings of 2/3% off our electric bill! The installation process was transparent taking only one day to install by capable associates. We have been very pleased and would not hesitate to recommend their company to anyone. We would want to appraise homeowners that their is no better time than now to consider Solar. The government Federal tax credit of 30% is still available until 2016 at which time it will expire. Price and integrity makes MTV Solar a Win, Win decision!”

“Here’s our ground-mounted array, as installed by Mountain View Solar. Our main roof slope had the wrong orientation, and the roof portion with the correct orientation was too small. We have a 45-panel, 10Kw array, with 25 panels feeding the house and grid, and 20 panels feeding our battery backup. System has worked flawlessly, and I highly recommend ground-mount if you’re in snow country–much easier and safer to keep clear than a roof-mounted system! And you won’t find a better firm to work with you than Mountain View Solar.”

“It has been a year since Mountain View Solar installed fifteen panels on our house, and they still look — and work — great. We look forward to many more years of running our power meter back. The installation of the panels was done efficiently and professionally. The monitors that measure the solar output were explained to us and we have received monthly reports on how much energy our panels are producing. It took some time for the electric power company to catch up to what our new energy consumption pattern was like, because they based their statements on estimated readings and average consumption. The new “normal” is taking effect now and we find it gratifying to see how much less our power bill is. We especially liked taking a tax credit to reduce our income taxes last year. Why else did we decide to install solar panels? We wanted to do our part in reducing the carbon footprint. We wanted to be able to talk to others about how they can benefit from installing solar panels themselves, from our own experience. This is the future and we wanted to be part of it.”

“We were totally pleased in every respect with the PV sales and installation by Mt. View Solar. Julie was responsive in answering all questions during the sales process and was quick to recost and make expedient changes as we progressed to a final sales contract. The installation crew were timely, expedient, and professional in every way. Nothing left to clean up after they departed and in our case, the PV’s were on line and producing before they left. In the last 30 days, our net meter has been turning backwards. It’s a great feeling and was a total pleasure working with the entire Mt View Solar staff!”

“I was very thorough in my research when thinking about solar for my home. I looked into the tax credits to be sure they were real, which was a major factor in my decision. Researching competitors on the internet, I found mtvSolar’s pricing to be very reasonable and past customers I spoke with were very happy. From Jen in the office answering all of my questions, and I sent a lot of questions, to the crew who installed my system, it was a wonderful process. The mtvSolar sales consultant had a very responsive, no pressure approach. She set me up for the right expectations of how long the process would take. I think the company is great to work with and am impressed by the awards won by mtvSolar. I’m sure I will be adding more solar in the future.”

“Our system was installed in March of 2010 after attending a Mountain View Solar open house. mtvSolar estimated we could offset about a third of the cost of utilities with a 2.3 kW system on our all electric home. During summer months we actually produce up to 60% of the power we use, which is much higher than expected. In 2011, we were able to sell 3 SRECs totalling $585. $609.12 was paid to Allegheny Power making our total net cost of electricity for 2011 $24.12! At this point in life you really look at how to make money go further. We are not sorry that we installed solar. We wish we would have done it sooner.”
– Lester and Esther Boleyn
“From the first point of contact for information, to the detailed review of our house to see if it was a good candidate for solar, to the sales presentation with great detail and several solar options with their value and calculated return on investment period, we could not be happier. Once the contract was signed, the continuous personal contact and follow up, construction (two days) and standards of installation could not have been better, and results show our electrical bills are declining within the parameters of the MTV Solar analysis.”
– Lawson Hockman
“We have had a very pleasurable experience working with Mountain View Builders and Mountain View Solar & Wind. Our newly installed PV solar system is working well and our geothermal system is working as advertised. I would recommend them as a building contractor and renewable energy installer.”
– Judith Wheeler
“I love being able to watch the production of my PV solar system via the computer. My work is in research, some days can be very hectic. Throughout the day I log on to the computer and watch my PV system product energy. It makes me very happy to know that our home is generating electricity while I am at work!”
– Gerald Share
“Even with this cold weather and snow our electricity usage from the gird has been cut in half due to our PV solar system. Our solar hot water system works great too, we always have all the hot water we need. We are really looking forward to our federal tax credit.”
– Gale Foulds
