Residential Solar PV
Thank you for your interest in mtvSolar! Our green building experience allows us the unique advantage of understanding how building and solar components work together. This enables Mountain View Solar to develop and install a solar energy system that will best suit your home and energy needs. Mountain View Solar installs only premium equipment, guaranteed to last.
Is solar worth it?
Absolutely! No matter how large or small your installation, you will directly offset your electricity bill by a certain percentage. Every system pays for itself in electricity bill savings. After you break even, you make money via saved utility costs.
Can I afford it?
Absolutely! mtvSolar is equipped to assist with various financing options. Click here to learn more!
How much solar do I need for my ____sq ft house?
The size of your system is based on how much electricity that you use, not the size of the house. When we do an evaluation, we take into account your annual electricity consumption, the size of your roof or other location suitable for solar, and budget.
Does solar keep the power on during an outage?
If you have batteries, yes. We specialize in custom battery backup systems which can keep the lights on when the grid fails. If you do not have batteries, then the utility grid is equivalent to your “battery”. Therefore, when the grid fails, the system must shut down as well.
Can I monitor my system’s performance online?
Absolutely! Provided that you have an always-on Internet connection, we set up your monitoring free as part of our service package. For locations without Internet, we have cellular options available.
Can I install solar in stages?
Absolutely! You can start with as few as eight panels, and we will size the remaining components to support the maximum size desired. The more panels that you install at any one time, the lower the price per panel.
Do you install on a metal roof?
Absolutely! We also install on any other roof type capable of supporting the load, as well as the ground. During an evaluation we can determine if your roof is suitable for solar.
What kind of warranty is available?
SolarWorld modules carry a 20-Year Product Warranty and 25-Year Performance Guarantee. The extra assurance warranty states “The SolarWorld Assurance™ program offers the first comprehensive Dual Warranty™ plan on the market that provides real value to you, the system owner. In addition to SolarWorld’s standard product warranty, the Dual Warranty plan is a supplemental warranty policy provided at no additional cost to you”
The SolarEdge Inverter warranty states “SolarEdge includes a 25 year warranty for power optimizers and a standard 12 year warranty for inverters, extendable to 20 or 25 years.”
The LG Chem Battery warranty states “LGC warrants and represents that the Subject of the Warranty retains at least (60)% of Nominal Energy for (10) years after the date of invoice.”
Other North-American made modules we may offer including Silfab, SolarTech Universal and Mission Solar have comparable warranties.
If there is ever a problem with any equipment that we install, we work directly with the manufacturer to get it replaced as soon as possible under warranty at no cost to you.
