PUBLIC SOLAR OPEN HOUSE TO BE HELD
[Harpers Ferry, WV] Debby Kay, owner of Chilbrook Kennels, is opening her solar array to the public to visit her home and view her solar panels between the hours of 11 AM – 4 PM on Sunday, October 7th. Debby Kay has 24 solar panels with a 300-watt rating per panel for a total system size of 7.2 kilowatts. This system, when paired with her battery energy storage system, successfully provides backup power to her kennel when the power grid is down.
Debby Kay and solar experts from Mountain View Solar, the West Virginia solar business which installed her solar and battery system, will be on hand to show her solar power system as well as answer any questions attendees may have.
“We’d like everyone to come out on the 7th to see how solar works in the real world and how solar power could benefit you”, said Jabari Baker of Mountain View Solar.
This Solar Open House event will be held from 11 AM to 4 PM at 719 Mission Rd, Harpers Ferry, WV 25425.
The event is a part of the National Solar Tour and is Co-Sponsored locally by both Chilbrook Kennels and Mountain View Solar.
Anyone interested in attending can RVSP through the National Solar Tour’s website located at nationalsolartour.org, can find the event on Facebook, by visiting Mountain View Solar’s page, or can RSVP by calling event organizer Danny Chiotos at 304-886-3389.
“Going solar is not difficult and in the long run the savings are well worth the up front investment,”said Debby Kay of Chilbrook Kennels, “just knowing you will never be left without power is worth it.”
